Serrations Ltd was founded in 1993 by metallurgist Keith Hartley and is now highly regarded as a leading producer of tungsten carbide inserts for surgical instruments.
Keith Hartley’s son, James, joined the company in the early days and, along
with his experienced team, is proud to carry on the traditions of quality
and service overseeing the company’s progression from strength to strength.
Designed for use in top-quality surgical instruments, these jaw inserts are engineered by grinding individual teeth into hard, wear resistant tungsten carbide to produce a precise, sharp, well-defined point with superb gripping properties.
The inserts are diamond lapped on the reverse side to specified thicknesses, this guarantees a clean, flat surface and uniform thickness in readiness for brazing to the instruments.
In the many exacting stages of production, meticulous care is taken to ensure the highest quality. Customers can therefore be confident in the performance of the inserts.
We also have a wide choice of both profiled and rectangular shaped inserts in various thicknesses and tooth pitches.
It is even possible to have the plain insert without teeth.

Diamond ground tungsten carbide rasps, engineered by creep feed grinding precise rasp profiles into high quality tungsten carbide.
The rasps are diamond lapped on the reverse side to ensure a surface ready for fastening to the instrument.
Meticulous care is taken to offer a high quality rasp for use in the highest quality instruments.
Only the highest quality, responsibly sourced tungsten carbide is used for the production of the inserts and rasps.
The needle holder inserts are available in either cobalt (the default grade) or nickel bound tungsten carbide. Please ask for details of these grades.
Material certificates can be provided with each order and our statement on Conflict Minerals is available on request.
